Durst has announced two new options for its Rho 1000 printer. Its Smart Speed Option accelerates the printing speed by more than 20% when using the unit’s Quality printing speeds. And it adds a Spot Gloss Option, which enables the Rho 1000 to print both gloss and matte areas within one image. The two options are also available on other Durst machines as well.

In addition, at SGIA 2011 in New Orleans, the company showcased the Rho 1000 with a Mirus feeder, which allows for the loading of stacks up to 1500 kg on pallets from three sides (and two parallel stacks can be loaded at the same time). The feeder is capable of handing media up to 5-mm thick. A Mirus stacking solution is also available.
