New Olympus Evolt E-330 DSLR Features Live-View LCD

Olympus has released the latest in the company's E-series, the EVOLT E-330, a 7.5-Mpxl digital SLR with a 2.5-in. high-res, live-view LCD, which is articulated and can extend out from the camera body and swivel upward or downward to a 160″? viewing angle. The camera offers two live views: 'A' mode is a full-time live view with auto-focus; 'B' mode is a macro live view with manual focus.

The camera features a TruePic Turbo Image Processor for fast camera response and processing speed (up to four TIFF or RAW images at 3 frames/sec). It's capable of shooting RAW images with resolutions up to 3136 x 2352 dpi, approximate file size of 12.9 MB. Images can also be recorded as TIFF, JPEG, and RAW+JPEG The Evolt E-330 is compatible with Compact Flash cards, Micro Drives, and xD Picture Cards.

In addition, the Evolt E-330 also features:
“? The company's Dust Reduction System, which shakes the camera at 35,000 vibrations/sec to remove dust from the camera sensor each time the camera is turned on;
“? 20 pre-programmed Scene Select modes such as Portrait, Landscape, Night Scene, Children, Sports, Underwater, and Panorama;
“? Three color parameters (Vibrant, Natural, or Muted) allow control over color saturation, contrast, and sharpness within each parameter individually;
“? Five black-and-white monochrome modes;
“? And an optional PT-E02 Underwater Housing for waterproof protection to depths of 196 ft.

Estimated street price: $1099.99, includes body with Zuiko Digital 14-45mm f3.5/5.6 Zoom lens (equivalent to 28mm “? 90mm in 35mm photography); body only: $999.99; PT-E02 underwater housing: $1219.99.

Olympus has also announced several other high-end prosumer digital cameras: the Stylus 810 is an 8-Mpxl CCD camera with an estimated street price of $429.99; the Stylus 720 SW is a 7.1-Mpxl camera with a 3x optical Olympus Zoom Lens and an estimated street price of $399.99; and the Stylus 710 is a 7.1-Mpxl camera, 28 shooting modes, and an estimated street price of $349.99. All three cameras include: a 2.5-in. LCD, TruePic Turbo image processor, Bright Capture technology to improve images taken in low-light situations, and a Digital Image Stabilization mode to eliminate blur.
