Roland’s new spot-color fidelity system, Roland Color, is included in the new Versa-Works 2.2 RIP. Developed for print-for-pay shops, vehicle-graphics providers, sign makers, and other durable graphics professionals, Roland Color allows shops to easily match logo colors and other corporate-identity elements. Supporting the VersaCamm, SolJet, AdvancedJet, and Hi-Fi Express models, this tool helps print providers identify spot colors and accurately reproduce them.

The three-step system involves printing a wall chart, swatch book, or sticker sheet of Roland’s standard colors-more than 1000-to use as a reference tool. The user then matches the spot color within the graphic to a corresponding swatch, specifies the matching color in VersaWorks, and prints.

VersaWorks 2.2 also offers Variable Data Printing capabilities. The new capability allows users to merge txt or CSV data fields with a predefined design template to output variable text and graphic elements. The VDP tool supports popular design applications including Adobe Illustrator and CorelDraw.

Users can automatically update their VersaWorks software via the Internet.
