The National Print Owners Association (NPOA) has been created. Targeted at small independent print operations and those in the quick-print segment of the graphic-art market, the new association seeks to offer “a viable alternative to those printers who are currently members of other trade associations, but are dissatisfied with the return on their investment,” the new association “also seeks to attract many other printers who have chosen not to join any association because none have appeared, so far, to satisfy their needs.”

The NPOA has already announced its first event: The NPOA Conference will take place in April 2013 in New Orleans and will address various topics including financial benchmarking, large-format printing, sign making, digital copying technologies, mailing services, and more.

Membership dues are $275 per year ($225 before January 31) for print shops; associate memberships for manufacturers, suppliers, and consultants are also available ($1200 per year).
