Mutoh's Viper Prints with Dye-Sub Inks

Mutoh's new Viper is a digital transfer
printer”?printing onto transfer paper
with dye-sub inks. It's available in 65-
and 90-in. versions, offers resolutions
up to 1440 dpi, and can print up to 414
sq ft/hr (production speed is 75 and 301
sq ft/hr).

The Viper incorporates a software-controllable
pre-heater and dryer and eight
360 nozzles/color piezo-electric drop-ondemand
inkjet heads allowing for high
volume printing. It can be used to make
banners, flags, pennants, promotional
products, tile murals, trade-show and
exhibition graphics, floor graphics, P-O-P
displays, and posters.

The Viper DTS printer offers 6 colors
(CMYKcm) of water-based disperse dye ink
in 220-ml cartridges. Ink can be set up as 2
x 4 (same ink types), 4 + 4 channels (mixed
ink types), 6 channels, or 8 channels.

It also features heavy-duty feed and
take-up systems, prepares media for
after-treatment, has media tracking which
allows for straight winding on the take-up
roll, and offers adjustable head height.

Mutoh also has “beefed-up” the Falcon
II Outdoor
“?the Heavy Duty version will
now accommodate media rolls up to 200
lbs. The Falcon II Outdoor Heavy Duty sells
