Mutoh Intros ValueJet Mild-Solvent Printer

The new 51-in. ValueJet 1204, from Mutoh, offers 4-color (CMYK) rollfed printing and is capable of printing at speeds up to 93 sq ft/hr at 720 x 360 Production bidirectional mode. This mild-solvent printer incorporates a Mutoh printing technique that reduces banding typically associated with bidirectional printing.

Its printheads offer 180 nozzles x 8 lines in each head. The machine is compatible with the company's new Eco-Ultra inks and its output is water- and UV-resistant for up to 3 yr, the company reports.

The ValueJet features 10 print modes (up to 1440 x 1440-dpi resolution), a Mutoh version of Amiable SE software, and individually controlled pre and post heaters.
Price: $14,995. The ValueJet will begin shipping in summer 2006.
