Mimaki USA has introduced the TS300P-1800 production dye-sublimation printer. The 77-in. roll-to-roll machine is designed for digital textile printing and other applications requiring transfer to rigid surfaces.

The 1440-dpi TS300P images up to 1238 sq ft/hr (4-color mode) or up to 700 sq ft/hr (6-color mode). The machine includes Mimaki’s new Sb410 dye-sublimation inks, designed for stability, and TxLink3 RIP software for textiles, which includes ethernet capabilities and emailed status updates.

The printer is also designed to address problems presented by thin transfer papers, with features including four high-gap printheads to avoid strikes caused by wrinkled media, and a vacuum-fed, calibrated media handling system that reduces media uplift immediately after printing, to minimize cockling, buckling, or creasing.

In addition, features for unattended printing include a nozzle check unit and recovery system, which checks, cleans, and maps clogged nozzles, as well as a bulk-ink system with 2-L ink packs that can be replaced without stopping the job in 4-color mode.
