MGI Digital Graphic Technology, a French manufacturer of digital printing and finishing solutions, has announced its acquisition of majority ownership in German industrial manufacturer KÖRA-Packmat GmbH.

MGI and KÖRA-Packmat have had a strategic industrial collaboration since 2005. The acquisition will form the “MGI Group.” The MGI Group will be an independent manufacturer of digital inkjet presses.

“With the evolution of our inkjet printing systems, it was important to fuse our industrial and economic synergies to better develop and manufacture future MGI print technologies. The French innovation and creativity merged with German quality and reliability makes this project an ambitious and pertinent challenge,” says Edmond Abergel, MGI group chairman.

The MGI Group will present a wide range of digital technologies at drupa in Düsseldorf, Germany from May 3rd to 16th, 2012, including new technologies resulting from this latest acquisition.
