Mikkelsen Graphic Engineering (MGE) has introduced larger versions of its i-XE10 digital die-cutting system with the new MGE Kongsberg i-XE32 and i-XE54. The 53 x 63-in. i-XE32 and the 63 x 120-in. i-XE54 both accommodate rollfed and flatbed media and can kiss-cut or through-cut a variety of materials.

Based on the integration of an i-cut Vision system with an XL Kongsberg cutting table, these systems offer a high degree of automation-using i-cut Vision Pro software and the printed registration marks, each graphic is checked for distortion or skew, and corrected on-the-fly. The cutting systems accommodate a variety of media, from pressure-sensitive flexible media and carton board to polycarbonate and banners.

The Auto-Feeder roll-feed and conveyor system provides automatic transport of flexible materials; jobs longer than the table can be cut in sections. The Auto-Feeder can handle up to 3 stacks of printed graphics.

Combination kiss-cutting and through-cutting is done by the software-controlled blade pressure up to 45 lb; the optional glide shoe floats on top of the substrate to allow the cutting of porous materials. The i-XE machines also have tools for creasing and oscillate-cut; auto weeding is an option.
