As reported on www.bigpicture.net earlier in the year, MediaLive International–whose tradeshows and conferences include Seybold, Comdex, NetWorld+Interop, and others–has announced that it is returning Seybold to its conference roots and will create an entirely new series of regional events for 2005.

MediaLive has now announced the specifics for its 2005 events. All three regional events will be tightly themed, hotel-based conferences, including Seybold San Francisco, which will make the move from the Moscone Center to the Sheraton Palace in December 2005. The local markets will drive content, says MediaLive.

“The industry as we know it is changing around the globe,” says James M. Smith, vice president and general manager for MediaLive's Technology Media Group. “Driven by advances in new technology, the industry is evolving as publishers have new avenues to drive costs and complexity out of their workflows. The Seybold event series will push the adoption of these technologies into the mainstream and show real world examples of enterprises that have succeeded and the challenges and returns they've encountered along the way.”

Specific event information:

— Seybold New York: May 23 – 26, 2005, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel; subject matter will include workflow and content management for traditional and corporate publishers, plus a PDF Summit for advertisers and publishers.

— Seybold Chicago: Sept 11 – 14, 2005, co-located and in collaboration with the NPES/Print trade show at McCormick Place; subject matter will include workflow and asset management for marketing and manufacturing professionals (e.g., catalog, packaging), plus an Asset Management/DAM Summit.

— Seybold San Francisco, Nov 29 – Dec 2, 2005, at the Palace Hotel; subject matter to include content creation and asset management for traditional and corporate publishers, plus an XML Summit for content managers.
