Markzware Updates FlightCheck Workflow

Markzware has updated its FlightCheck
Workflow solution for automating prepress
processes to v.2.0 for the Windows
PC platform. FlightCheck Workflow is used
to batch-process and analyze information
about documents, files, and jobs, and now
includes a preflight toolkit with several
mini-solutions.

These solutions include: batch converting
high-res images to low-resolution
72-dpi RGB JPEG images for use on the
Web; batch converting TIFF images to
CMYK from RGB, indexed or LAB; and
batch correction of file extensions if they
have been removed from the file name.
The new mini-solutions can be downloaded
from the company website.

Also new to FlightCheck Workflow is
support for Adobe FrameMaker, Microsoft
Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint, and the
ability to interface with FlightCheck v.
5.52 for Windows.

In addition, Markzware has updated
FlightCheck for Adobe InDesign CS and
CS2: FlightCheck Studio v. 1.3. Studio
works in real time to find and correct
design problems while the document is
being created.

Markzware has also updated its
FlightCheck Studio for QuarkXPress to v.
1.3. It also examines and repairs documents
as they are being created. In addition,
it displays policy filenames on a
palette for easy identification and users
are able to output policies as reports. Version
1.3 also has addressed a number of
problems from the previous version.

FlightCheck Studio for CS/CS2 and
QuarkXPress both run on Mac OS X 10.2
and up. Price: $199.
