LexJet Introduces Solvent Inks and Media

LexJet, which only recently introduced its own aqueous inks, has now moved into the solvent-ink aftermarket with the introduction of its ProSolvent inks. The new inks–specifically designed for Mimaki, Seiko, Roland, Mutoh, and HP solvent printers–are an exact color-replacement for the OEM inks, reports LexJet, and no conversion steps are necessary.
“We have extensively tested this ink solution and will guarantee our customers that the ink is 'hot swappable' with OEM inks”?requiring no line purging,” says John Lane, LexJet vice president. “The ink solution is chemically a 'plug-n-play” with OEM inks”?requiring no modifications in color profiles.”

In conjunction with the new solvent inks, LexJet also has announced its new Solvent Banner line. Compatible with solvent, mild-solvent, and UV-curable inksets, the new media line is available in rolls up to 126-in. wide. The Solvent Banner line includes:

• 11-oz, 13-mil Gloss and Matte Banners, laminated scrim banners for lightweight short-term banners; and 13-oz, 16-mil Gloss and Matte Banners, for general-purpose banners needing high tear-resistance.
• 15-oz Premium Gloss and Matte Banner, a 16-mil coated scrim vinyl that features a smooth surface and a bright-white finish.
• 13-oz Super Smooth Blockout Banner, a 100%-opaque media that's printable on both sides; comprising laminated scrim vinyl, this 14-mil product is specially coated to increase dot control.
• 9-oz, 17- mil Premium Mesh Banner with Liner, comprising a polyester scrim fabric impregnated with PVC; boasting high tear-resistance and tensile strength, it's for use in front of walls, on scaffolding, and theatre/TV backdrops, this media is lightweight and lays flat.

In addition, LexJet has launched its fine-art Sunset paper line. Comprising Sunset Hot Press Rag, Textured Fine Art, Air Dried Fibre Matte, and Air Dried Fibre Gloss papers, the line features a scuff-resistant coating, is water-resistant, and can be protected with either solvent or water-based clearcoats and varnishes. Compatible with aqueous inks, the media is designed for watercolor and art reproduction, fine-art prints, color and black-and-white photography, fine photo editions, and fine-art output. All are available in sheets up to 36 x 48 in. and rolls from 17- to 44-in.
