Are there any specific products you wish were available for dye-sub imaging? If so, you might want to send them for coating at the new DuraSub Coating Division of Laser Reproductions in Skokie, IL.

The company, which sells ColorRite? sublimation inks, papers and other supplies, has added a coating plant to its facility and can apply its DuraSub? coating to substrates such as tiles, stone, and metal and promotional items such as gift tins, cutting boards, clocks, and thermometers. In addition to standard DuraSub imprintables, Laser Reproductions provides custom coating services for both industrial and commercial customers.

According to the company, the coatings are resistant to UV light and scratching and are applied to pre-washed products in clean rooms were dust particles smaller than 1 micron or less in size are filtered out.

Bill Leek of JBL Graphics recently lab-tested Laser's coated ceramic, marble and porcelain tiles and found that Laser's proprietary, automated coating techniques provided complete, uniform, and spotless coverage. (Laser Reproductions: 877-795-1500; www.LaserReproductions.com)
