I LOVE ARCHITECTURE. From grand European cathedrals and castles, to revitalized cityscapes and small-town historic restorations, buildings fascinate me. So I think it’s super cool to be a part of this dynamic wide-format digital printing industry and see the incredible transformations PSP’s can create on buildings or on other outdoor surfaces. It amazes me that digitally printed media and substrates can cover intricate details on hard-surface buildings and that expert PSP’s like yourselves can maneuver installations on the most difficult of materials on old building materials such as brick or metal siding, and on detailed construction elements like angles, curves, small architectural add-ons.
Transforming exterior surfaces can be a small or big — sometimes really big — projects. In the 90s I lived in Boulder, CO, and witnessed an artist community reform historic downtown buildings on the city’s popular Pearl Street Mall to keep them updated and fresh. Local Boulder print providers designed exterior graphics with a vibe that spoke to the times and screamed “Boulder.” Then, I’d drive my kids 12 hours across the Midwest to Kansas to visit their grandparents. There, I always was in awe of the small and, sadly, often diminished cities with quaint town squares where old, tired buildings were revitalized with cool graphics that gave life to a community with history that is struggling to stay relevant.
Staying dedicated to continuing to push your own creative boundaries will take you to the top of your game. There’s no reason you can’t be installing major stadium or corporate buildings in your future.
I’m looking forward to continuing our journey together in 2025 and wish you much success!

- Evaluate if past ideas were worth your time and effort, then improve on the ideas that worked. When clients can’t stop talking about something you did to make their visit with you memorable, implement that idea to share with all of your clients. (Chris Burslem, 16)
- Teach your staff the way you like to work. Taking responsibility for your employee relationships is an absolute necessity to achieving an effective workplace. (Tip Sheet, 38)
- Waiting for just the right opportunity? Or until you’re ready? You don’t need to build confidence before you take the leap — your confidence grows through taking the leap. (Adam Grant, 38)
- Challenge your assumptions, rethink your strategies, and unlock the true potential of your business. The future of digital wide-format printing is data-driven. (Mark Coudray, 40)
