Mimaki has introduced its JV22-160 largeformat

dye-sub market. The 63-in. printer utilizes
CMYK x 2-color or 6-color water-based pigmented
inks or disperse dye-sub inks and
piezo printheads. Resolutions range from
360 x 360 to 1440 x 1440 dpi with photoquality
variable droplets. It offers speeds
of up to 478 sq ft/hr at 360 x 360 dpi and
photo-quality print modes up to 1440 x

includes an automatic take-up device,
selectable printhead height, and FireWire
and parallel port connections.

The JV22 can also run 6-color (CMYKcm
or CMYKOG) water-based pigmented inks for
interior or exterior graphics. These graphics
have a tested durability up to 3 years without
a laminate, and 5 years laminated.

Commercial printers can use the JV22
as a proofing device. And screen printers
can run the JV22 with dense black inks to
produce waterproof clear film positives.
