The Association of Graphic Solutions Providers (IPA) has launched its Color Management Professional certification program. For print professionals as well as creative, photography, prepress, and pre-media professionals, the program is designed to help users gain knowledge in the principles of color-management.

The CMP certification program is comprised of a series of online instructional courses designed by industry-leading color-management experts, using advanced online training technology with 24/7 access to all courses and exams. This content is regularly updated to reflect changing technology and best practices.

The first course in the program, “Color Management Fundamentals,” is a comprehensive 17-lesson, six-hour course that describes the principles of color management in a graphic-communication production environment. Additional courses will be offered for “Professional” Certification in creative, photography, prepress and/or pre-media specialties in October 2008. Each course contains both education and testing, including an online practicum demonstration.

Fee: $514 for the Fundamentals course ($395 for IPA members); pricing on subsequent courses to be announced.
