Interwoven, Inc., a provider of enterprise-level content-management solutions, has announced plans to acquire MediaBin, a pioneering digital asset management company. Interwoven's content-management technology is used by more than 1100 organizations worldwide, including Air France, Cisco Systems, General Electric, General Motors, and Yamaha. MediaBin's customer base includes more than 50 companies, including Delta Air Lines, John Deere, Microsoft, Reebok and Samsonite.

Interwoven expects the acquisition will enable them to deliver a unique solution for intelligent management of digital assets”?a skill that is becoming increasingly critical to efficiency and success in multi-channel marketing. MediaBin is well-known for its pioneering rendition-management capabilities that allow users to find, use, transform, deliver, and update content for reuse, accuracy and consistency in multiple types of electronic and printed media.

Since announcing the integration of their products in October 2002, Interwoven and MediaBin have won contracts with more than a dozen customers, including Harrah's Entertainment. Harrah's is using the Interwoven/MediaBin technologies to manage all of its marketing and Internet assets, which may be one factor contributing to their growing reputation as a leader in personalized, one-to-one marketing.

“We've seen increasing demand within our customer base for a combined digital asset management and content management solution,” says David Moran, chairman, CEO of MediaBin.

“We've assessed the market, and based on customer feedback, we chose MediaBin,” says Martin Brauns, chairman, president and CEO of Interwoven. He expects MediaBin technology to complement and further strengthen Interwoven's existing content-management offerings: “By integrating MediaBin with Interwoven's unique content intelligence capability, we're delivering the industry's first solution for intelligent digital brand management across the extended enterprise.” (Interwoven: www.interwoven.com; Media Bin: www.mediabin.com)
