InteliCoat has announced new media and a specialized RIP.

Magiclee Torino 21G, a poly/cotton blend, 21-mil canvas, offers a high-gloss finish and increased density. Its universal inkjet coating is compatible with pigment or dye inks for piezo or thermal wide-format printers. Featuring wide color gamut and image stability when printed with pigmented inks, Torino offers increased density, dot control, high resolution, and acid-free construction, reports InteliCoat. Available in 24- to 54-in. rolls, it's designed for portraits, fine-art reproductions, museum art, and photo displays.

InteliCoat also has introduced Magic DS130 Dye Sublimation papers for aqueous piezo wide-format printers equipped with dye-sub inks, including Epson, Mimaki, Mutoh, and Roland printers. Used to transfer dye-sub inks onto a wide range of sublimatable media, the paper enhances the release of ink during the sublimation process. Magic DS130 will transfer onto flat and soft fabrics to rigid substrates such as tiles and snowboards. The transfer paper is available in rolls from 54- to 72 in. wide.

In addition, ErgoSoft has announced its Magiclee RIP, which is specifically for use with the InteliCoat Magiclee brand of media. This new RIP will “ensure the best results from Magiclee media,” says Ed McCarron, marketing manager for InteliCoat.

Derived from ErgoSoft StudioPrint v.11, the Magiclee RIP is preconfigured with ICC profiles for all Magiclee media”?from Verona papers and Torino canvas, to Siena quick-drying photo papers and Firenze photorealistic matte papers”?on a number of output devices including Epson, Mimaki, and Roland. Though tuned for Magiclee media, the Magiclee RIP provides users with support for any ink or media.
