The new top-of-the-line flatbed from Inca Digital is the Spyder 320-8 series. The 320-8 features eight ink modules and 32 Spectra printheads (4/color), and allows users the ability to increase the CMYK color gamut by printing CMYKcm plus spot colors or white (or double white). Green, orange, and violet spot colors are currently in beta testing.

The machine prints up to 860 sq ft/hr in poster mode, with production performance at 699 sq ft/hr in high-quality mode. Depending on the print mode selected, the resolution tops out at 1000 dpi.

The Spyder 320-8 utilizes Fujifilm Sericol Uvijet UV-curable pigmented inks, which offer high ink opacity, 2-yr outdoor durability, and a matte/satin finish. Like all Spyder flatbeds, the 320-8 has a moving 126 x 63-in. print carriage with a static vacuum bed and pin registration; it accommodates media up to 1.2-in. thick, and utilizes the Wasatch SoftRIP.

Current Spyder owners can upgrade their machines to suit growing business needs: Spyder printers built in the last 6 mo are upgradeable to the 8-color format. The company anticipates that a wider variety of Spyder 320-8 models will be offered in the future, as users request ink and option variants.

Price: $475,000. Distributed worldwide by Fujifilm Sericol.
