At FESPA, Inca introduced the latest in its Spyder line-the 320 Q Fine Quality-as well as an enhanced version of its Columbia Turbo.

Offering reversed-out 4-pt text with smooth edges, the new Spyder 320 Q Fine Quality is designed for applications where a crisp image, fine lines, and sharp text is required, such as fashion graphics, gaming machine panels, and closely viewed prints. It's equipped with a new printhead that delivers a 10-pl drop. Speeds for the new printer range from a top speed of 396 sq ft/hr in Display/POP mode (1400 dpi) to 310 sq ft/hr in high-quality mode (1600 dpi). Users have a choice of a CMYK or CMYKW format.

'This new Spyder machine allows even smaller format work to be effectively tiled up and, with its small drops, delivers excellent reversed text and quality prints.' says Bill Baxter, managing director of Inca.

The 320 Q offers many features similar to the other printers in the Spyder line: It is a 63 x 126-in. flatbed printer, accommodates media up to 30-mm thick, and utilizes Fujifilm Sericol Uvijet inks.

Incas has shipped its first beta model of the Spyder 320 Q Fine Quality.

In addition, Inca and Fujifilm Sericol presented the enhanced Columbia Turbo. The newly enhanced Turbo features:

* A new mid-speed print mode that offers high-quality printing at speeds up to 1044 sq ft/hr.

* New Inca software that automatically links all files in a job, which simplifies double-sided printing or jobs featuring multiple files.

* Newly formulated Fujifilm Sericol Uvijet inks that feature several new primary colors developed specifically for Inca printers. These inks are highly flexible and offer improved adhesion, routing, and cutting performance.

All of the new features are available as upgrades to current Columbia Turbo customers.
