Color photography is 100 years old. Ilford is celebrating just how far the technology has advanced by offering a 2003 calendar that photographers can be download and print on their own desktop inkjet printers.

In 1903, French inventor Louis Lumiere registered for the patent for a “color photographic system” that subsequently became known as autochromes lumiere. He had used the system to create and produce the first color images 100 years ago.

Ilford's calendar features digitally restored images made from original autochrome plates and information about Lumiere, the Lumiere Company and the autochrome process.

The calendar is available at www.ilford.com. The files are optimized for printing on Ilford Galerie Professional Inkjet photo papers. All Ilford Galerie papers are compatible with dye-based inks used on Epson, Hewlett Packard, Canon, and Lexmark printers. Galerie Smooth papers are compatible with the pigmented inks used on the Epson Stylus Photo 2200. (Ilford Imaging USA, Inc.: www.ilford.com)
