The International Color Consortium met recently in Vancouver, BC, Canada, to take key steps toward having its color-management specification adapted into an international standard, even if that means a revision to the specification.

The Consortium has scheduled a meeting with the ISO Technical Committee 130 (International Organization for Standardization), Graphic Technology, for November 4, 2003 in Scottsdale, AZ. ICC has been working to make its specification consistent with ISO format as the basis for gaining ISO recognition of the specification as an international standard. The November meeting will pursue the matter further.

At its meeting, ICC also decided to submit the new Version 4.1 of the specification for public comment following an ICC Steering Committee vote. This new version incorporates a number of minor revisions that specifically address ambiguities that had been noted about the definition of calorimetric rendering ad uses of perceptual Rendering Intents.
