The International Color Consortium has published a progress report on its activities in 2002 and early 2003. The 16-page report describes what steps have been taken to make the organization's profile specification easier to use and ICC-based workflows easier to implement. The report also discusses the organization's efforts to have the profile specification adopted as an international standard.

“User input on issues they face in implementation of color management has been key in focusing ICC activities,” says William Smythe, ICC secretary. “As a result, 2002 was very productive for the group as further improvements have been made that will result in the release of a minor revision to the ICC specifications later in 2003.”

Hard copies of the report are available from Smythe at NPES The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies (e-mail: [email protected]). Download a PDF copy of the report at www.color.org/iccprogressreport.pdf.
