Hyatt Introduces New Transfer Paper

Hyatt has introduced its new Wide Format and HIS Transfer Paper. Designed for use with aqueous dye-based and pigmented inksets, the paper has been formulated to overcome the traditional drawbacks of transfer/dye-sublimation printing-including a plastic feel to the graphic after transfer, as well as problems with cracking, peeling, or separating from the fabric. Hyatt’s Wide Format and HIS Transfer Paper has a coating that, when heat-set, allows the ink to permanently bond itself to the fabric fibers-making for a soft hand and a permanent bond.

In addition, the company reports that this new transfer paper produces graphics that are stretchable-bonding with no cracking or peeling onto substrates such as lycra, spandex, and rib knit, as well as cotton, canvas, felt, satin, blends, and natural fibers. (Note: As with all sublimation processes, users must apply dry heat and pressure to transfer the image from the transfer paper onto the substrate; this can be accomplished with a commercial press or a lower-tech ironing action).

The Wide Format Transfer Paper is available in 17-, 34- and 60-in. rolls; HIS Transfer Paper is the same product, but in sheet format.
