Designed to meet 24/7 digital production demands, the new HP Indigo press w3250 offers high-speed printing (maximum image size of 11.9 x 17.7 in.) onto a variety of substrates. Intended user applications include personalized direct-mail letters and postcards requiring variable data printing, books and booklets, photo-related items such as calendars and photo albums, and versioned user manuals for products and services (such as car-owner manuals).

The webfed press is capable of delivering up to 8000 impressions/hr and print speeds up to 136 ppm in 4-color and 272 ppm in 2-color; it can print personalized mailers using variable data, along with other high-speed 4-, 2-, and 1-color jobs. The w3250 offers standard 4-color, IndiChrome 6-color (CMYKOV), and 7-color (CMYK+3 spot) printing using Liquid HP ElectroInk and Pantone colors.

The optional HP Production Flow is both a RIP and a front-end workflow manager, which simplifies the operation from prepress to finished product; other offline RIP options are available. The in-line priming feature allows the w3250 to accept standard offset media from 40 to 300 gsm. In addition, users can add in-line or near-line finishing options from Hunkeler and EMT.
