HP has announced the new HP Designjet Z5400 PostScript ePrinter, a multi-roll 44-in. ePrinter designed for applications such as posters, photos, canvases, backlit prints, indoor signs, point-of-sale posters, line drawings, and maps. The new machine utilizes a 6-color set of fast-drying pigment-based HP Photo Inks (CMY + light gray, matte black, and photo black).

Features include: two-roll media with automatic switching; HP Multi-Dimensional Smart Drop Placement Technology, for color accuracy and smooth color tones; HP Instant Printing Pro, to preview, crop, and print PDF, PostScript, TIFF, and JPEG files; HP Professional Pantone emulation; USB flash drive/e-mail printing; 320-GB hard drive; and more.

Max. print speed on the Designjet Z5400 is 570 sq ft/hr; top resolution is 1200 x 2400. The printer can accommodate photographic, proofing, and fine-art media as well as self-adhesives; banner, sign, and backlit media; fabrics/textiles; and more.
