Grimco has acquired Signs and Blanks (SABI), the Akron, Ohio-based traffic-sign company that manufactures aluminum blanks. SABI has been a major supplier to Grimco for aluminum products the company uses in manufacturing.

The Signs and Blanks facility has been transitioned into Grimco Akron, OH.

“This is Grimco’s largest acquisition to date and will serve to provide our aluminum customers with a competitive advantage for years to come,” a company press release states. “Everyone at Grimco and the former SABI is striving to make this a seamless transition for all customers.”

Grimco, founded in 1875, is a national sign-supply company with 26 locations around the country. It is an authorized equipment reseller for HP and Mimaki USA as well as Key Banner, 3M, Avery, R Tape, and others.

Signs and Blanks was established in 1989. At its 65,000-square-foot facility in Akron, it produces aluminum blanks, traffic signs, and custom signs.
