The Rio Dye-sub printer from Graphics One is a 42-in. printer that can produce images with resolutions from 360 to 2880 dpi.Based upon a Mutoh printer, the Rio offers a wave printing process, similar to Mutoh's Intelligent Interweaving print technology.

Using one Epson wide printhead (360 nozzles per color) and RioColor water-based disperse dye-sub inks from Graphics One, the 4-color Rio produces variable dot printing with ink drops as small as 3.5 pl. The RioColor inks are available in 15 colors: CMYKcmk, White, Orange, High-light-fast CMYK, Fluorescent M, and Fluorescent Y.

Rio print speeds can reach 400 sq ft/hr, the company reports. The machine can print onto a wide range of polyester fabrics for applications including banners, flags, pennants, prototypes, trade-show and exhibition graphics, floor/carpet graphics, P-O-P displays, poster, apparel, and tile murals.

Options include the SoftRIP from Wasatch.
