GBC Introduces Arctic and Titan Laminators

The latest laminators from GBC include two new machines in both its Arctic 1000 and Titan 1200 lines, as well as a high-speed single-side laminator system.

Designed to protect and enhance heat-sensitive media, the company”?s new Arctic cold laminators are the Arctic 1040WFc and the Arctic 1064WFc. The 38-in. 1040WFc”?which caters to print providers with space constraints and those specializing in narrow vehicle graphics”?and the 61-in. 1064WFc both protect and mount graphics using pres”?sure-sensitive films and adhesives. Able to accommodate media up to “?-in. thick, the machines feature silicone rollers, and can laminate as fast as 12 ft/min for the 1040 and 18 ft/min for the 1064.

In addition, the Arctic machines offer adjustable speeds, removable feed tables for easy loading, motor-driven rewind for release liners, a foot pedal for hands-free operation, a reversible motor for feed jams, and safety features such as an emergency stop button and a photo beam to keep fingers from get”?ting caught.

GBC”?s new Titan thermal laminators incorporate heavy-duty swing-out shafts and are designed to be more user-friendly. The 63-in. Titan 1264WF and 43-in. Titan 1244WF machines can utilize pressure-sensitive laminates, as well as thermal films. Offering speeds up to 10 ft/min, these Titan machines also offer variable speeds and temperatures, nine memory settings, heated silicone rollers, one rewind, and two unwind shafts. Safety measures include a Plexiglas shield to keep fingers and loose objects out of the rollers, an emergency stop button, electronic safety controls, and stand-by/sleep modes to power-down the machine between jobs.

The company also has introduced the GBC 8556, a new single-sided high-speed thermal lamination system that works with sheets up to 56-in. long x 44-in. wide. It”?s designed to be run by a single operator and its speeds can reach 200 ft/min. GBC notes that the 8556 is well-suited to laminate various types of packaging such as dust jackets, book covers, and gift bags.

In addition, GBC has added PreLume to its Octiva Lo-Melt Thermal Films. PreLume is an additive to substrates and laminates that enhances graphics and yields a whiter white.
