At ISA, Gandinnovations introduced its Jeti 1224 UV True Flatbed, the most compact and economical of the company's Jeti Flatbed line. The flatbed is designed to print on rigid materials such as acrylics, corrugated board, poster board, tile, drywall, blinds, metal sheet, and glass, as well as fabrics, vinyls, and canvas.

The 6-color (CMYKcm) printer features a 4 x 8-ft print area-designed for North America standard rigid material sizes-and 24 Spectra printheads. The flatbed table employs linear motion for accurate registration, features retractable registration pins, and uses a vacuum system to hold media in place. The Jeti 1224 can handle media up to 96 x 48 in. and the head carriage height can be adjusted from the software interface for rigid materials up to 2-in. thick.

Users can switch to white and clear varnish options from the 6-color mode-for a CMYK+WV inkset-without a loss in print quality or time, reports the company. At best quality, the Jeti 1224 prints at 1200 dpi to achieve a print speed of 450 sq ft/hr; maximum print speed is 500 sq ft/hr.

The printer offers resolutions of 1200, 800, 600, or 300 dpi. Gandinnovations offers three types of Spectra heads, which allows customers to customize their machines by choosing its highest resolution (300 to 1200 dpi). The company reports that the printer's precise mechanics allow for easy repeatability for jobs like double-strike backlit or double-sided applications.

Additionally, the printer features a standard safety hood, which covers the printing area and raises and lowers automatically, as well as a user interface with a 17-in. LCD flat panel display. The printer also has an automatic safety-shutoff feature. Users choose Onyx, Caldera, or a Wasatch RIP upon purchase.

Gandinnovations also has enhanced its Jeti 3150 UV Flatbed. Now available with 48 heads, the 5 x 10-ft flatbed can achieve a 6-color print speed of 450 sq ft/hr at 1200 dpi.

In addition, the company has added an inkset compatible with its Jeti flatbed line: FlexForm UV inks. These inks allow users to print onto acrylic, and then vacuum-form the image within minutes.
