Fujifilm demonstrated its new UviStar Series of UV rollfed inkjet printers, developed out of a partnership between Fujifilm Sericol and Matan. The UviStar series comprises a 138- and 197-inch model (3.5 and a 5-meters), both of which can handle a range of media, including flex or self-adhesive vinyl, mesh, blueback paper, backlit, flag, Tyvek, and other coated and uncoated media, as well as a range of recyclable media such as polyethylene.

Both sizes have multi-roll capabilities: The 197-inch model can simultaneously handle three rolls up to 65-inches wide, while the smaller unit can handle up to two rolls. It can print with cores of varying weights, widths, and diameters; and it can accommodate different images. Media can be printed free-fall as well as roll-to-roll. A flatbed option (table) is available for rigid media; with it, the machines can accommodate media up to 1-inch thick.

Top resolution is 600 dpi (1200 apparent). Top speed (1-pass speed mode): 3800 square feet/hour on the 197-inch model, 3000 on the 138-inch; 260 square feet/hour in 8-pass supreme mode on the larger model and 236 square feet/hour in the same mode on the smaller model.

Both models come standard with a ColorGate Production Server RIP (Fujifilm edition).
Price: $389,995 (138-inch) and $474,995 (197-inch), including install and warranty; the flatbed option adds $15,000.
