Fujifilm Sericol has announced the MaxJet series of solvent roll-to-roll printers, a new roll option for the Acuity flatbed, and new Uvijet Ultratone inks for the Inca Spyder.

Based on the Mutoh Blizzard, the 65- and 90-in. MaxJet CMYK printers offer eight staggered Epson printheads, intelligent interweave technology, and resolutions up to 540 x 720 dpi. The MaxJet is designed for application such as signs, banners, window graphics, backlit box signage, and vehicle wraps, generating output in picture mode of 430 sq ft/hr and top speeds of 861 sq ft/hr in high-speed print mode, both in 360 x 360-dpi resolution.

Offering 180 nozzles/heads and variable drop sizes from 5.4 to 41.5 ng, the KYCMMCYK head layout minimizes banding and allows for speed and quality production in bidirectional printing modes. The MaxJet features a bulk-ink system with 4.5-l ink tanks, and uses Fujifilm Sericol Color+ Al-series ink. These true solvent inks have no HAPs (hazardous air pollutants), reports the company; additionally, the inks are weather-proof and abrasion and UV-resistant, allowing outdoor images to last for up to 3 yr without lamination.

Price: 65-in. model, $39,995; 90-in. model, $49,995.

In addition, Fujufilm has announced a roll option for the company's Acuity flatbed, without adding to the machine's footprint. The roll option is now available for $25,000 and is field-upgradable.

Sericol also presented its new Uvijet Ultratone inks for the 8-color Inca Spyder. Featuring a CMYKW orange violet inkset, the Ultratone inks expand the color gamut of the Spyder, allowing users to hit many common logo colors for companies such as Home Depot, Coca Cola, Lowe's, and Taco Bell.
