Fujifilm has launched its new FinePix S9100 digital camera-a fixed-lens “dSLR-styled” unit. A successor to the FinePix S9000, the S9100 offers 9-Mpxl Fujifilm Super CCD sensor, a 10.7x Fujinon optical zoom lens, and ISO 80-1600 capabilities. The larger 2-in. LCD screen (S9000’s LCD screen was 1.8 in.) also tilts, making it easier to frame shots from a variety of shooting positions.

The S9100 provides dual media slots and supports CF cards, MicroDrives, and xD-Picture cards; it also offers image transfers via the included USB cable. The camera includes Real Photo and Picture Stabilization technology.

Other features of the FinePix S9100 include: Fujifilm’s intelligent flash systems (i-Flash); new processing algorithms to increase sharpness and resolution; and Hyper Utility Software HS-V2 version 3, for full control of RAW images.

MSRP: $599.
