Fisher Textiles' new Dispersed Inkjet fabric line is geared toward print shops with disperse-dye, direct-print wide-format printers. Specially coated to allow for direct printing, the fabrics are compatible with the Dupont Artistri, and with aqueous printers using dispersed inks, including Mimaki JV-4 and TX-2, as well as the Roland Hi-Fi Jet Pro II FJ-540 and Hi-Fi Jet Pro FJ-600/500.

Heat or steam is needed to set the dispersed inks in a process similar to dye-sublimation. This direct-print process, however, eliminates the need for transfer paper and the second step of transferring the image onto the material.

The fabrics range from 2.1 to 8.8 oz, include poplin, poly silk, duck, knit, and suede; they can be used for signs, banners, gaming tables, and trade-show booths. The fabrics are available in 60-in. rolls. Many of the fabrics are flame-retardant.
