Rocky Nook has released Fine Art Printing for Photographers: Exhibition Quality Prints with Inkjet Pritners, by Uwe Steinmueller and Juergen Gulbins.


The 246-page book provides an overview of the technology involved in inkjet printing, including discussions on ink, media, RIP solutions, color management, and printer installation and adjustments. Steinmueller and Gulbins explain how to prepare an image for printing, guiding the reader through fine-art printing workflows that focus on tonality and color tuning as well as resizing and sharpening images. They also touch on producing black-and-white prints, color inspection, and how to finish and present a final print.


Steinmueller, a photographer since 1973, began working seriously in digital photography in 1999. He has written several books and produces outbackphoto.com, a popular blog covering outdoor photography. Gulbins, whose experiences include writing, desktop publishing, designing document archival systems, and digital photography, who has written and translated books on a variety of topics.
