Extensis Acquires DiamondSoft

To accelerate advances in font management

Extensis Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Celartem Technology USA Inc., has acquired DiamondSoft, Inc. Extensis publishes software such as Suitcase for font management, Portfolio for asset management, PrintReady for preflight and file delivery, and plug-ins for Photoshop and extensions for QuarkXPress. DiamondSoft products include Font Reserve font-management software.

“There is a great deal of knowledge about the font-management market between Extensis and DiamondSoft,” said Craig Keudell, CEO for Extensis. “This acquisition will enable us to pool our efforts and better serve our customers by offering them the best font management products for both Macintosh and Windows platforms.”

Brian Berson, president and founder of DiamondSoft, notes that “With DiamondSoft's experience providing font-management systems for large corporate customers and Extensis' solid track record of providing font solutions with superior usability, we are positioned to market the absolute best client/server font management offering available.”

DiamondSoft will retain its office based in Mill Valley, CA and operate as the Bay Area office for Extensis. DiamondSoft President Berson, will take on the role of General Manager of Extensis Font Solutions. Extensis will market and support both Suitcase and Font Reserve products and will be working to integrate both font management products into new products in 2004.
