EskoArtwork had introduced SignUp Auto, an automatic nesting solution based on the company’s SignUp technology. SignUp Auto is designed for companies that wish to more completely operate their workflows in a nearly “lights out” process, Esko reports.

It offers the ability to understand and process XML and JDF files as prepress input (making it ideal as a receiver of storefront input for Web-to-print); nesting and tiling; and complete workflow automation, allowing an operation to accept a number of very short run jobs to deliver to a digital press. SignUp Auto is expected to be commercially available in July.
 

The company also has added to the feature set for its SignUp graphic-layout application tool. New features include:
• Automatic bleed to images, ensuring that any cut will be made to the edge of the image.
• Offcut manager, to organize the nesting of available images on the substrate, efficiently leaving a blank area of the board so that it can be re-used.
• Automatic white underprint generation, automatically prepares a file for a white underprint.
• Improved multi page support, allowing for establishment of settings two-sided displays.
• Support for structural data from popular CAD software, such as ArtiosCAD.
• Creation of Smartmarks–dynamic job marks for displays, such as eyelet marks for banners.
