EFI's Fiery XF RIP

EFI has debuted its new EFI Fiery XF RIP for Vutek wide-format printers. Designed for high-speed processing, color quality, and increased productivity, the software”?which uses Bestcolor Technology”?enables the addition of multiple proofing devices to the production equipment, and also allows for integration with the company”?s Print Management Information Systems and Web2Print products.

EFI Fiery XF provides Vutek printer users, as well as users of other machines, with an easy-to-use graphic interface, drag-and-drop hot-folder functionalities, wizards, and a preview feature to simplify work. Other features include linearization (the software works with spectrophotometers from GretagMacbeth or X-Rite), nesting, step-and-repeat, and tiling. The RIP will be available in Q3 of this year.

EFI also has introduced version 3.0 of its Colorproof XF RIP. New features and enhancements include: a new Production Option for wide-format production environments, and a Fiery Option, which seamlessly integrates Fiery-driven devices into the Colorproof XF workflow. The Production Option features advanced step-and-repeat, allowing wide-format printers to not only print multiple copies of images, but to define whether images are repeated horizontally, vertically, or in mirror-fashion.

All of the Colorproof XF packages now incorporate 3D Optimizer, an easy-to-use tool embedded in the software to optimize printer output to a specific reference. Optimizer supports the GretagMacbeth Eye-One iO automated measurement device, providing accurate reading of test charts in addition to supporting the linearization tool of the basic Colorproof XF package.
