EFI Updates Proofing and Print-Production Software

EFI has announced the release of EFI
Designer Edition v. 4.2 proofing solution
for the design market, as well as EFI
Photo Edition color-management software
for digital photographers. Both are
also available in XXL versions to drive
printers up to 60-in. wide.

Improvements in both editions
include: printing modes such as Proof
Mode for Prepress, Photo Print Mode for
RGB workflow, and Black-and-White
Mode. In addition, both feature TIFF
export for exchanging color-managed
data with customers; a Ugra/FOGRA
media strip; the ability to save colormanagement
settings and specify the
alignment of a job; and the addition of a
black-point compensation feature for
improved shadow details.

The company also has unveiled

Logic SQL version 21.0 print-production
software, which now features a report
queue for executing multiple reports
with a single request. It also has the
ability to save report settings and can
import budgets from Excel.

EFI's PrinterSite Internal sales force
application also has been updated”?to
version 2.0. An add-on module that
integrates with EFI's SQL MIS system,
the new version provides a “dashboard
view” into job-production status.

Another product upgrade is Print-
Smith Site version 2 the company's
Web-to-print add-on solution for users
of its PrintSmith MIS system. Users are
now able to see pricing online for other
than predefined quantities; and approval
workflows allow specified customers to
