Dye-Sub Carpet from Bob Mats

Modified polyester carpets are stain resistant.

Based in the Netherlands, Bob Mats has introduced several new printable carpets, in roll and in mat forms.

Bob Mats carpets are composed of PPT, a modified polyester that combines the advantages of traditional carpet materials to produce resiliency along with vivid colors. Using the company's white PPT yarn, these 5-mm thick carpets are compatible with dye-sub, aqueous, solvent, and oil-based inksets. Like all dye-sublimation processes, after direct-printing, the dye-sub carpets need to be heat set to bring out the deep and vibrant colors. The resultant carpets are stain-resistant and offer a very soft fiber with a wool-like touch, the company reports.

Vincent carpet feature PPT yarn and gel foam and natural rubber latex backing, allowing the carpet to resist dye-sub temperatures up to 200?C. The Vincent carpet is non-slip. Available in rolls up to 157 in.

Andy mats with rubber backing also employ the company's proprietary PPT fibers and can be imaged using dye-sub transfer paper or direct printing on a flatbed printer. The mats feature a washable 1.3mm to 1.5mm NBR rubber backing, can resist dye-sub temperatures up to 200?C, are flexible, will lay flat, and will not break under cold conditions. Mats come in a variety of standard sizes up to 33 x 59 in.

Other new carpets include:

* Its new Salvador roll carpet is made of a melamine-treated polyester felt with a thick natural rubber/latex backing. It can be dye-sub printed and is available in widths up to 157 in.

* Designed for temporary use, Michelangelo is a polyamide loop carpet that can be direct-printed using solvent or UV-curable inks. Available in rolls up to 196 in., it can be used for exhibition flooring or runners for special events.
