DuPont Nonwovens has selected Laird Plastics to help expand distribution of DuPont Graphics products, with a particular focus on DuPont Tyvek print media in the wide-format marketplace. Laird consists of more than 50 service centers across North America in all segments of commercial, industrial, and advertising activity; the company offers a range of products including graphics materials (substrates and various higher-end materials) as well as mechanical/engineering materials.

“We were excited to find a distributor who so closely aligns with DuPont in corporate values and sustainability goals,” says Carolyn Burns, global marketing manager–DuPont Nonwovens. “We look forward to working with Laird as we bring affordable and sustainable media to the wide-format graphics industry.”

This is not an exclusive distribution arrangement, reports DuPont, which says that Laird 'was selected for its national distribution channels and its focus on wide-format applications. Tyvek has always been a player in the wide-format space, says DuPont, 'but with the increasing popularity of UV-cure digital inkjet printing, Tyvek is ideal for this process. Further, because it is recyclable…it is consistent with [printers' and end users'] sustainability principles.'

“We are proud to partner with DuPont, a recognized leader for its commitment to the environment and the health and safety of its employees,” says Brett Thompson, Laird's Western region market development manager. “Laird Plastics is committed to streamlining the supply chain and providing customers with sustainable alternatives for traditional print materials.”
