With the advent of entry-level outdoor-graphics printers from Mutoh, Mimaki, Oce, and others, Dr. Graphix Imaging has expanded its line of wide-format inkjet media to include materials optimized for use with solvent-based inks. Available in 42-, 50-, and 60-in.widths, the initial products in the line include the following three materials:

Solvent Tear-Resistant Gloss Film: Based on Dr. Graphix' popular TR51 line of tear-resistant media for aqueous inksets, this glossy waterfast substrate has a reformulated top coating that dries instantly to preventing bleeding and support a wider color gamut. The film-based product is strong, durable and bio-degradable.

Solvent Reinforced PVC Banner: This 12-oz banner material has a bright white smooth surface for high-quality imaging. According to Dr. Graphix, the lay-flat banner material has a non-yellowing surface with no plasticizer migration and is priced about 35% less than many banner materials.

Solvent Adhesive Gloss Vinyl: Highly stretchable and durable, this high-gloss, bright-white vinyl comes with a permanent adhesive for use on many different surfaces. (Dr. Graphix Imaging: www.drgraphix.com).
