InfoTrends’ newly released “2014-2019 Digital Textile Forecast” predicts swift expansion for the digital textile printing industry, which the market research company has defined to include garment, décor, and industrial applications. The study estimates the market value at $7.5 billion and projects a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 34 percent up until the year 2019. The shift is reportedly a result of an increasing demand for customizable print work, among other advantages of short-run inkjet printing, such as reduced inventory and quick turnarounds – trends that have also had recent impact on the package printing industry. The report also indicates that a growing demand for environmentally friendly production will continue to drive the textile market.
