Digital Textile 2005 will be held March 3-5, 2005 at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Berlin, Germany. Sponsored by Web Consulting, this is the sixth such European conference on digital textile printing and prepress. The event's format will include a single-day “study tour” to textile printers followed by a two-day seminar covering technologies and market developments.

“As with many developed countries, in recent years the German textile industry has suffered under severe price pressure from developing markets,” says Chris Byrne, Web Consulting's managing consultant for textile printing. “However, there are still creative textile printers in Germany and Western Europe who are looking to new technology to open up growth and new market opportunities.”

Although the digital printing of textiles still accounts for less than 1% of all textile printing, says Web Consulting, the volume of fabric printed by inkjet has nearly doubled during the past 12 months and is beginning a significant growth phase.

Digital Textile 2005's full program will be announced later in 2004. (Web Consulting: www.web-ue.com)
