The Graphic Arts Show Company (GASC) has postponed its Digital Outlook Conference, scheduled to take place June 16-17 in conjunction with the company's Gutenberg Festival. Although the Gutenberg Festival will go on, the conference”?which was to focus on digital printing”?will be held at a later date (specific date and location to be announced).

“This is a conference whose time will come soon, but is not right at the moment,” says Regis J. Delmontagne, GASC president. “We examined the program and the current conditions both economically and from an industry standpoint, and made a business decision to place the Digital Outlook Conference at a more advantageous point on the calendar. The entire industry's attention for the past few months has been focused on technology and capital expenditure items at Drupa. That focus left little room for graphic-communications professionals to consider the training and educational component necessary to using and applying those technologies effectively.”

GASC also announced that next year's Gutenberg Festival will relocate to the Los Angeles Convention Center, and will be held April 28-30, 2005. For the past 30 years, the show had been held in Long Beach, CA, but show organizers say the Los Angeles facility will offer increased parking areas, better walking access and public transportation, wider hotel and restaurant selection, and other advantages.
