Creo newest version of its Prinergy? workflow management system include trapping and color management technologies that enhance the quality, usability, and automation of the Prinergy workflow, as well as support the Creo's Networked Graphic Production initiative.

Version 2.2 of Prinergy incorporates an enhanced version of Creo PDF Trapper for increased functionality and ease-of-use and features tools for complete ICC-based color management for platemaking and proofing throughout the workflow. The Creo color management improves handling of Hexachrome? and nColor profiles, and also supports Creo's Spotless? printing which uses Staccato?-screened, process-color builds to simulate spot-color inks. Other new features facilitate the creation of Advanced Production Automation (APA) files and make it possible to recombine separated input files for color-management and trapping.

Creo is now the sole supplier of the Prinergy workflow. Its OEM agreement with former partner Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG has expired. (Creo Inc.: www.creo.com)
