Creo Launches New Workflow Solutions

Version 2.3 of Creo's Prinergy PDF workflow
software hit the market during the
recent Drupa show. It features support for
Staccato Extended Color Screen Spotless
printing for spot colors and a Creo PDF
Preflight option for customizing preflight
criteria, or using predefined profiles, for
PDF/X-1a and PDF/X-3. Prinergy 2.3 also
supports JDF, with ink-key presetting
using the PrintLink software module, and
accepts and auto-processes job tickets
from Creo Preps imposition software.

Job status, material usage, and prepress
activities are just some of the information
that Prinergy 2.3 can share
between management-information systems
like Synapse Link and Synapse
InSite 4.0. Prinergy can also integrate
with the Spire color server and the Xerox
FreeFlow Print Manager to accommodate
digital printing.

Creo's Synapse UpFront 3.0 can help
printers improve planning and efficiency. It
allows JDF 1.1a data imported from management-
information systems (MIS) to be
exported back to MIS. The software imports
JDF files from estimating systems, allowing
planners or customers to plan jobs
quickly, based on the original estimate.
After completing the job-planning process,
UpFront exports Preps templates and completed
jobs with marks”?saving time and
reducing costly imposition errors.

The Synapse InSite 4.0 Internet portal
permits print buyers to submit jobs and
collaborate online. It has the ability to
host independent or collaborative viewing
sessions in a form of soft proofing that
now supports JDF.

Creo's Synapse Link 2.0 allows users
to track production costs by collecting
real-time accurate costing information,
which is conveyed to a printing company's
business systems to ensure accurate
billing. Synapse Link enables production
to be initiated automatically from business
systems. As print jobs arrive and
estimates are approved, the production
process can begin automatically, resulting
