Corn-based EarthCling from Plastiprint

Plastiprint has introduced EarthCling , a new fully compostable plastic film made from corn. The 4-mil white film is composed of biaxially-oriented PLA (polylactic acid) and is designed for application onto glass or other glossy surfaces, as well as onto matter surfaces such as metal, wood, plastic, and most smooth wall surfaces. It offers good scratch resistance and slip characteristics and can be easily die-cut, the company reports.

Complete with a clear water-based, low-tack removable adhesive, EarthCling is compatible with solvent, mild-solvent, and UV-curable printers. It's available in rolls or sheets, and offers an outdoor durability up to 6 mo.
