Comstock Acquired by Jupitermedia

Jupitermedia Corp., Darien, CT, has acquired Comstock Images, the New Jersey-based stock-imagery company in business since 1976. Jupitermedia's JupiterImages division offers online subscriptions for clip art, Web graphics, photos, and fonts via websites such as graphics.com, photos.com, clipart.com, and animations.com.

Meckler, Jupiter Corp. chairman and CEO. “Its addition to our JupiterImages division immediately makes Jupitermedia one of the largest organizations worldwide in the business of selling stock images by single download or online subscription.”

The acquisition adds more than 500,000 wholly owned stock images to the company's image library, says Meckler. In all, the JupiterImages division will now have more than 3.5 million images online.

In addition to its JupiterImages division, the company also includes JupiterWeb, an Internet publishing and commerce division; JupiterResearch, a consulting group; and JupiterEvents, for conferences and tradeshows. (Jupitermedia: www.jupitermedia.com)
