Colortrac Announces SmartLF Cx 40 Scanner

Colortrac recently announced it newest large-format scanner”?the SmartLF Cx 40. Designed to replace its 4080, the SmartLF Cx 40 offers 600-dpi resolutions, 48-bit color data, and a 2+4 all-wheel drive Active Paper Transport system. The scanner features maintenance-free contact image sensors (CIS) and comes complete with SmartLF scan/copy/e-mail software.

The 40-in. scanner is available in three models: Cx 40c color, and Cx 40e color express, and Cx 40 m monochrome. The difference between the color and color express models is speed”?while both scan monochrome images at the same rate (10.1 in./sec), the standard color scanner has a top color speed of 0.84 in./sec while the color express version has a top color speed of 3.36 in./sec. The scanners can be upgraded on-site from monochrome to color to color express.

The Cx 40 scanners feature no warm-up or waiting”?users can begin scanning as soon as the machine is turned on. In addition, Colortrac has adopted the dynamic normalization application (DNA) used in the company”?s high-end CCD color scanners that, combined with its 48-bit color, improves the shadow and highlight details of images, Colortrac reports.

Optional equipment includes a Universal Repo Stand floor, PC and flat-screen mounting kit to create an integrated scan/copy station, and a paper-catch basket. Optional software includes ScanWorks (professional scan-to-archive and post-scan image processing), CopySmart (scan-to-print with IT8 color matching), and ISIS (connects high-speed document scanners to electronic document management system).

Price: $7500 to $10,000, depending on model.
